TIKO HISTORY
The Thousand Islands Kennel & Obedience Club is an All-Breed club with a long and impressive history. It has served the Brockville and area community for over fifty years. It was founded in 1966 by a group of dog enthusiasts from the area. The founding members were Jack & Joyce Bernhardt, George & Jean Cornforth, Art & Gerry Buss, Mary & Bill Hobbs, Mel & Brenda Richardson, Garnet Irving, and Jack & Jackie Dupont.
TIKO has held annual Conformation Shows & Obedience trials for fifty years now; usually in the month of August. The weekend long event is very well attended by exhibitors from Canada and the United States. Spectators are always welcome. Watch our Event Calendar for dates and specific times in order to watch the judging of your favourite breeds. TIKO has also run Obedience and Conformation Handler training classes throughout their years as a club. Those classes have helped many local dog owners to ensure their dogs became great canine citizens and many have gone on to compete as well as succeed in licensed event competitions as well.
